Hi, we are Tawfiq and Nihal, two Palestinian pharmacists from Gaza.
We got married just three days before the war, ready to start building a loving, quiet home and raise children in peace. But we were forced to leave Gaza due to the war and concerns about childbirth complications. Our plan was to return after the delivery, but the border was suddenly closed, and we found ourselves stuck in Egypt under unimaginable conditions.
Now we live in a small apartment with high rent, with our newborn daughter. The income we earn is barely enough for food, medicine, or even baby formula. We are trying to survive, but every day is getting harder.
I, Tawfiq, used to work tirelessly in Gaza — sometimes over 20 hours a day. I worked in a pharmaceutical company and two pharmacies. One of the most beautiful memories of my life was working in a pharmacy just across from Al-Shifa Hospital in northern Gaza, where I felt proud to serve my community.
Today, all of that is gone. We became refugees in this harsh world, carrying on our shoulders a heavy dream: simply staying alive. My parents are still in Gaza, and my heart is with them every moment. I can't sleep out of fear and anxiety. Each day brings more emotional and mental pressure. This campaign is a cry for help. We just want to survive, to give our little daughter a chance at a decent life, and to restore a sense of safety to our family.
