Hi, I am Basheer, a professor and father of four in Gaza.
I have three daughters, Lama. She is 11 years old. and Lamar she is 9 years old, and Sila she is 4 years old, My son, Moamen. He is 1 years old. My children have lost their childhood because of the war. I am a university lecturer in the Department of Business Administration.
Before the war on Gaza in October 2023, I lived a normal life, dedicated to my work which I loved deeply, and proud of my students who were part of my mission. Since the war began, everything has changed. My home, my car, and my workplace were bombed, and my father, my brother, and his children were killed under the rubble, we could not save them.
I was also diagnosed with lung cancer, caused by the missiles and toxic gases from the war. Now, I suffer from severe breathing difficulties and limited mobility. I can no longer care for my family or afford my treatment. The Ministry of Health issued me a referral for treatment abroad, but the Israeli authorities denied my travel request, claiming I am “too young in age.” My life is now suspended between illness and siege, with nothing left but hope to survive for the sake of my children.
This is the reality we are forced to live. If we don't die in the bombing, we will die from starvation or cancer. We are living under extreme hardship due to war, displacement, and hunger. All of my children suffer daily from lack of food and security.I kindly ask you to contribute to my campaign. Your are a lifeline for my children and I especially Walid, whose condition is worsening without proper care.
