My name is Anees, a young man from Gaza.
I entered the war at eighteen. Today I am twenty, but the war did not give me a chance to live my youth, it took it before it began. I lost my older brother in an airstrike. My other brother was released after more than 550 days of detention, returning alive but carrying invisible pain, while the responsibility fell entirely on my shoulders. In a single moment, my childhood ended, and I became the sole provider for my family. Our home was destroyed. Our simple source of income was completely erased. We were displaced more than twenty times.
Today we live in a tent, something we never imagined would become our reality. A tent we received through donations. No safety. No privacy. No real sense of stability
One day, I walked more than 13 kilometers under the burning sun of Gaza just to obtain a bag of flour. I was beaten and threatened, but I did not let go.Because in Gaza, bread is not just food.Bread is life. Bread is dignity. Bread is the line between breaking and surviving.
This campaign does not ask for comfort, big promises, or the impossible. It asks only for the minimum, the minimum that allows a family to stay alive with dignity.Even in all of this, I do not think only about today. When I am able, I try to save a small part of this support, not for luxury or extra comfort, but to improve my future and to rebuild my home and my life that were destroyed. I save so I can learn, work, rebuild myself, and ensure that my family and I are not trapped forever in a cycle of day-to-day survival.Because dignity is not only about surviving today, but about having a real chance to stand again on solid ground
I am not a number in the news. I am a human being trying to protect my family, holding on to my right to live, and to my right to a home, a future, and a life taken from him by force.
Thank you endlessly for your support.
With love and gratitude,
-Anees
